Scope

This standard specifies the human-machine interface requirements for dis rete controllers, conventional multiplexing systems and soft controller systems in the design of nuclear power plant control rooms. This standard applies to newly designed nuclear power plant control rooms. If this standard is used for the design of auxiliary control points, or local control rooms, or for the timing of renovations of exis ing control rooms, special attention should be paid to certain assumptions made by this standard (such as the degree of automatic control) that may does not apply.
