Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and labeling, packaging, transportation and storage requirements for the food additive glyceryl caprylate. This standard applies to octanoic acid glyceryl ester refined through the refining process of caprylic acid, capric acid and glycerin. It is used as an emulsifier in the food industry and plays a softening role in gum.
