Scope

This standard specifies the instrumentation and testing methods used to evaluate the stain resis ance of carpets in the absence of abrasive wear and tis ue changes resulting from the use of standard artificial stain mixtures. This testing method is suitable for testing all types of unpaved carpets. The scope of application of this test method can be extended to the evaluation of fiber finis ing agents, cleaning chemical products and the efficacy of cleaning equipment (see Appendix A).
