Introduction

Standard Evolution and Technological Innovation

QC/T 755-2020, as the new standard replacing the 2006 version, has achieved three major technological breakthroughs in the field of LNG vehicle fuel gas systems:

Dimensions2006 Version2020 VersionUpgrade Highlights
System Composition4 Major Components5 Major ModulesNewly Added Gas Recovery Unit and Buffer Tank
Safety protectionBasic requirementsGraded protectionDifferentiate protection standards for Class N/M vehicles
Temperature adaptability-40~120℃-162~120℃Extend the low-temperature resistance range of LNG contact parts

Technical requirements for core components

Gas storage system

LNG cylinders must meet the following requirements:

  • Dual safety valve design (main valve 1.2 times the working pressure / auxiliary valve 1.8 times)
  • Liquid level display accuracy requirements: Dual alarm for 100km and 50km driving range
  • The pressure relief pipe must be directly connected to the gas phase

Gas supply system

Typical case: Carburetor needs to be completed when the engine consumes the maximum fuel:

  1. LNG is completely gasified
  2. Gas temperature is raised to the engine intake requirement
  3. Indirect heating must be used to utilize the waste heat of exhaust gas

Implementation suggestions

Key points:

  • Pipe connections should preferably use double-tube fittings (when pressure > 2MPa)
  • Dissimilar metal connections must be treated with anti-corrosion treatment
  • All seals must be calibrated regularly (cycle ≤ 12 months)
  • The 2006 version of the design documents must be re-registered after the new standard is implemented
