Introduction
Standard Background and Significance
This standard was proposed by the National Lightning Disaster Prevention Industry Standardization Technical Committee and formulated for the special protection object of ancient and famous trees. With the advancement of ecological civilization construction, the protection needs of ancient trees over 100 years old and famous trees with historical and cultural values are becoming increasingly prominent. Statistics show that lightning strikes have become the second largest natural factor leading to the death of ancient trees.

Key technical requirements
1. Specifications for lightning arrester installation
When using non-metallic clamps for fixing, the following must be met:
- Width ≥ 40mm and thickness ≥ 4mm
- Width of lining flexible material > clamp width
- No less than 3 fixing points
2. Key points for down conductor installation
Yunnan case: In the Lijiang Ancient Town protection project, multi-core copper stranded wires (cross-sectional area ≥ 50mm²) were laid along tree trunks and protected by 100kV insulating sleeves, which effectively solved the safety protection problem in crowded places in tourist areas.
3. Special treatment of grounding device
When the root system is on the soil surface:
- Horizontal grounding electrode needs to be insulated
- The buried position should be ≥3m away from the tree crown projection
- Ring grounding electrode is preferred
