4.1 Essential Map Element System

The standard specifies that satellite remote sensing product images must include 10 core elements: title, timestamp, image body, legend, data description, scale, compass, cartographic unit, and internal and external outlines. Coordinate grid lines are optional elements but must be implemented in accordance with the GB/T 20257 series standards.


4.6 Remote Sensing Image Processing Specifications

Typical case: Thematic map of water body changes in the Nenjiang River Basin produced by the FY-3B/MERSI sensor must meet the following requirements:

  • Spatial resolution is accurate to the meter level (e.g., 250m)
  • The projection method uses equal longitude and latitude/Lambert projection
  • Basic geographic information overlay follows the GB/T 2260 administrative division code

Implementation Suggestions

Standardized Mapping Process

  1. Preliminary Preparation: Confirm the satellite type (e.g., Fengyun series), sensor parameters, and target area coordinate system
  2. Element layout: Based on A4 format, use 24pt bold/Songti for titles, and 16pt right-align for timestamps
  3. Quality control: Check outline width (0.3mm), scale unit conversion, and map approval number marking

Technology evolution analysis

This standard complements GB/T 15968-2008 "Specification for Production of Remote Sensing Image Plans", and adds the following:

  • Dynamic time labeling requirements (accurate to minutes)
  • RGB channel number labeling specifications for multi-channel composite images
  • Feature sorting rules unique to meteorological thematic maps
