Standard Framework and Technology Evolution
QX/T534-2020, as the basic specification for data standardization in the meteorological industry, has established a classification system for 23 types of data elements, including observation equipment, atmospheric elements, space weather, etc. This standard inherits the metadata framework of GB/T18391 and integrates the international coding rules of WMO-No.306 to form a three-dimensional data element model of "object-characteristic-representation" with Chinese meteorological characteristics.

1. Three elements of data element
The standard innovatively proposes that meteorological data elements must include: objects (such as Automatic Weather Station), Characteristics (such as sampling frequency), and Representation (such as floating point type). When the three are the same, they are considered to be the same data element, and the measurement unit, spatiotemporal attributes, etc. are not used to distinguish them.
