This document, as a professional extension of GB/T 27043 in the field of forensic pathology identification, focuses on standardizing the implementation of proficiency verification of key technical links such as autopsy and histopathology diagnosis. The standard adopts a modular structure, including 9 chapters such as resource requirements, planning design, and item preparation, forming a complete technical closed loop.

Implementation difficulties and solutions

Typical case: Verification of the ability to infer the cause of injury

A provincial appraisal agency encountered a problem of large dispersion of participants' results when implementing the sharp instrument injury feature analysis capability verification. By:

  1. Supplementing detailed features such as wound microscope photos
  2. Clarifying 5 key indicators such as "wound edge uniformity"
  3. Adopting a double-blind review mechanism

Finally, the consistency of the score was improved to more than 85%.


Background of the standard evolution

CNAS data from 2012 to 2020 showed that the pass rate of forensic pathology proficiency testing increased from 68% to 82%, but there are still:

  • 23% of institutions make inaccurate judgments on postmortem chemical changes
  • 17% of case documents do not meet the standard of standardization

The release of this standard fills the gap in the professional field, and together with other parts of the RB/T 060 series, it constitutes a complete system of forensic science proficiency testing.
