Standard Overview and Technical Background
As the first special grading specification for red and white koi in my country, this standard fills the gap in the standardized management of ornamental fish. The standard is based on GSB 16-2062-2007 China Color System and GB/T 18654.3 Germplasm Inspection Specification, reflecting the technical level of domestic high-end ornamental fish farming around 2014.

Grading indicator system
Body requirements (A-level standards)
Must meet the following requirements: body length ≥ 12cm, straight spine, and correct swimming posture. Actual measured cases show that the body length of high-quality individuals is mostly in the range of 15-20cm.

Implementation recommendations
- Breeding technology: It is recommended to use a microscopic colorimeter to assist in colorimetry with the GSB standard sample book
- Farming management: Control the water pH to 7.2-7.6 to maintain color stability
- Grading operation: Visual inspection should be performed under natural light to avoid color deviation of the LED light source

Compared with the Japanese All Japan Koi Promotion Association standard, this document places more emphasis on quantitative indicators:
1. Introducing the Chinese color system number for the first time
2. Clarifying the lower limit of body length (there is no such requirement in the Japanese standard)
