Introduction

Standard Overview and Technical Background

SC/T 6103-2020 is my country's first industry standard for Tiantong satellite terminals for fishing vessels, which specifies the technical requirements for shipborne terminals based on the Tiantong satellite system. The standard was proposed by the Fisheries Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Aquatic Products Standardization. It was officially implemented on November 1, 2020.

    East China Sea fishing vessel monitoring case: The integrated terminal automatically transmits location data every 15 minutes. In case of distress, the emergency alarm button is used to simultaneously send a coordinate SMS and trigger a satellite phone call.

    • The protection level of the communication unit must reach IP66
    • The antenna must be installed with no obstruction at an angle of more than 20°
    • The power cord length must be ≥2 meters and surge protection must be done

    2. EMC test: Must pass 10 electromagnetic compatibility tests
