Scope

This part of SC/T 7202 specifies the principles, reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, operating procedures and result determination of the microscopy method for baculovirus disease in Penaeus monodon. This section is applicable to the detection of Penaeus monodon baculovirus (MBV) nuclear polyhedrons in living shrimps and their feces. The examination of feces can be used for non-lethal disease screening and diagnosis. It is not suitable for diagnosis of specimens carrying non-infectious viruses and for histopathological evaluation of hosts.
