Introduction

Interpretation of the core content of the standard

This standard aims at the full-process technical specifications for the reproduction and release of jellyfish (Rhopilema esculentum), and establishes a three-level seedling specification classification system for the first time:

Specification type Umbrella diameter range (mm) Applicable scenarios
Small-sized seedlings (Class I) 5≤D<10 Nearshore protection area
Medium-sized seedlings (Class II) 10≤D<15 Conventional release area
Large size seedlings (three categories) D≥15 Open sea area

Key technical requirements

Sea area selection criteria

Must meet the following requirements at the same time:
1) Meet the water quality requirements of SC/T 9401-2010
2) Historical distribution sea area and bait biomass ≥1000ind/m³

Dual control system for seedling quality

  • Genomic control: Parents must be certified by SC/T 2059-2014
  • Health control: Must pass 8 pathogen tests, of which Vibrio content ≤100CFU/g

Implementation suggestions

Case study in Zhoushan, Zhejiang: Medium-sized seedlings (12-14mm) were released from June to August, and the recapture rate increased to 18.7%, 6.2 percentage points higher than the traditional method.

Recommended operation process: background survey → seedling quarantine → environmental adaptation → marked release → 3-phase resource monitoring.

Analysis of standard evolution

Main improvements compared to the 2008 trial version:
1) Added seedling size classification system
2) Introduced molecular marker tracking technology
3) Established a quantitative indicator system for effect evaluation
