This standard specifies a method that uses gas chromatograph for the determination of boiling range distribution in petroleum fractions.
This standard is applicable to the petroleum products or the distillates with final boiling point at normal pressure lower than or equal to 538℃, vapor pressure as low as sample injection possible under room temperature, and boiling range above 55℃.
This standard is neither applicable to gasoline or gasoline components nor applicable to non-petroleum-hydrocarbon distillates.
