Scope

1.1 This standard specifies methods for evaluating the high-temperature oxidation and bearing corrosion properties of internal combustion engine oils. The test requires the use of a CLR oil testing machine and unleaded gasoline as fuel to evaluate the high-temperature oxidation and bearing corrosion properties of internal combustion engine oils (viscosity levels include 5W, 1OW, 20, 30, 40, 50 and multi-grade oils) as well as the performance of multi-grade oils. Viscosity changes. 1.2 The correlation between the test results and the vehicle engine usage results has not been established. Therefore, the results obtained from this test cannot fully show the results of all ignition or compression ignition engines that are different from this test method, but this oil test has good discrimination. 1.3 Only use [SI] units as standard units. 1.4 This standard involves certain hazardous materials, operations and equipment, but it does not make recommendations on all safety issues related to this. Therefore, users should establish appropriate safety systems and protective measures before using this standard.
