1 Scope
This specification specifies the engineering design principles and basic requirements for measuring tubing and signal transmission line of instrument in petrochemical industry.
This specification is applicable to the engineering design for instrument tubing and wiring in the constructed, extended and renovated petrochemical works of petrochemical plants and enterprises preparing fuel and chemical products with coal as raw material.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this specification, the following terms and definitions apply.

measuring tubing
tubes, valves and fittings that transfer the measured medium from the testing point to the instrument
3.2
instrumentation cable
generic term of instrumentation wire, cable, compensation wire, optical fiber cable and accessories
3.3
cable tray
trough-shaped product for laying and protecting wires and cables, including tray, cover plate and various components
3.4
protective piping
pipes and their connectors for laying and protecting wires and cables
3.5
micro-bend
high-frequency bending and/or local axial misalignment with amplitude of several microns in a short distance due to local lateral pressure
3.6
marco-bend
bending of optical fiber cable caused by manufacturing or installation of optical fiber cable
3.7
tensile strength members
assembly in an optical fiber cable used to limit the strain of optical fiber cable to a safe level by properly arranging a tensile strength and/or distortion-resist member
