3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this specification, the following terms and definitions apply.

3.1
measuring tubing
tubes, valves and fittings that transfer the measured medium from the testing point to the instrument

3.2
instrumentation cable
generic term of instrumentation wire, cable, compensation wire, optical fiber cable and accessories

3.3
cable tray
trough-shaped product for laying and protecting wires and cables, including tray, cover plate and various components

3.4
protective piping
pipes and their connectors for laying and protecting wires and cables

3.5
micro-bend
high-frequency bending and/or local axial misalignment with amplitude of several microns in a short distance due to local lateral pressure

3.6
marco-bend
bending of optical fiber cable caused by manufacturing or installation of optical fiber cable

3.7
tensile strength members
assembly in an optical fiber cable used to limit the strain of optical fiber cable to a safe level by properly arranging a tensile strength and/or distortion-resist member
