Scope

1.0.1 In order to unify the technical requirements for the planning of the national hydrological station network, give full play to the overall functions of the station network, improve the social and economic benefits of the hydrological station network, and better adapt to the needs of national economic construction and social development for the layout of the hydrological station network, we have formulated this standard. 1.0.2 This standard applies to the planning and adjustment of rivers, lakes, reservoirs, artificial rivers and their basins (including underground water bodies), and coastal hydrological station networks. 1.0.3 The national hydrological station network should implement unified planning. The preparation of hydrological station network planning should be based on the needs of national economic and social development, and should follow the principles of integrating river basins with regions, regions obeying river basins, scientific layout, reasonable density, complete functions, optimized structure, economic efficiency, and moderate advancement. 1.0.4 Hydrological station network planning should be based on the planning of a single type of station network, comprehensively consider the interrelation, coordination, and matching of various hydrological station networks to form a comprehensive hydrological station network system with complete functions in the basin or region. 1.0.5 In addition to complying with the provisions of this standard, hydrological station network planning should also comply with the provisions of relevant current national standards.
