Scope

This standard specifies the operating procedures for combined red blood cell assay for phototoxicity testing of cosmetics, including red blood cell hemolysis test and hemoglobin oxidation test. This standard is applicable to the screening and detection of in vitro phototoxicity tests of cosmetic raw materials and their final products. This standard can be used as part of the phototoxicity test, combined with other alternative tests and animal experiments, to conduct an overall evaluation of the phototoxicity of the test substance.
