Introduction

Technical Background and Evolution of Standards

With the strengthening of global control over chemical residues in textiles, bisphenol A (BPA) has been listed as a key monitored substance as a typical environmental hormone. Traditional detection methods such as HPLC have problems such as complex pre-treatment and high cost. This standard applies surface plasmon resonance to textile BPA detection for the first time, achieving a high-sensitivity determination of 0.02 mg/kg.

Key Operation Specifications

1. Chip Modification Process

The use of CM5 chip must strictly follow the three-step modification method of activation (EDC/NHS mixture) → coupling (BPA-BSA antigen) → blocking (BSA solution), and the flow rate is controlled at 10 μL/min.

2. Standard Curve Establishment

The BPA concentration gradient is required to be 10n μg/L (n=0-10), and the four-parameter Logistic curve fitting is used, and the correlation coefficient R2 should be ≥0.99.

Implementation Difficulties and Solutions

Case: In a laboratory, the signal attenuation after chip regeneration was more than 20%. After investigation, it was found that the glycine-hydrochloric acid solution (pH3.6) was not replaced in time. It is recommended to update the regeneration solution every 50 tests or every week.

Industry Application Recommendations

1. It is recommended to include BPA in the routine testing items for textiles exported to the EU;
2. When selecting an SPR instrument, verify its temperature control accuracy (±0.1°C);
3. Establish a daily calibration system for chip performance and record baseline drift values.
