Introduction

Standard Technical Background

With the tightening of international environmental protection requirements such as REACH regulations, 4-tert-butylphenol has been included in the key monitoring list as an environmental hormone substance. This standard (SN/T 5606-2024) was jointly formulated by the General Administration of Customs and 8 technical institutions, filling the gap in the detection method of this substance in my country's textiles.


Core detection principle

Using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) coupling technology, through:

  1. Methanol ultrasonic extraction of target compound
  2. DB-5MS chromatographic column separation
  3. EI source 70eV ionization
  4. 135 m/z characteristic ion quantification
Actual application case: In the inspection of a certain exported knitwear, the mass spectrum interference of phthalates was effectively avoided through the SIM mode.
