Introduction

Technical background and scope of application of the standard

This standard is formulated to meet the detection needs of water-soluble chloride ions in zinc oxide concentrates produced by pyrometallurgy, filling the gap in the method for determining the chlorine content in zinc-containing secondary resources. The determination range covers 0.10%-15.0%, meeting the analysis requirements of complex matrices such as zinc leaching slag and lead smelting slag.

In-depth analysis of the principle of the method

Key stepsChemical reactionKey control points
Hot water extractionCl-→solution phaseConstant temperature oscillation at 90-95℃ for 1h
Indicator effectHg2++diphenylcarbazone→purple complexpH control yellow-green to yellow
Titration endpointHg2++2Cl-→HgCl2Light purple-blue does not fade for 30 seconds

Key reagent configuration specifications

Case of mercuric nitrate standard solution calibration: When weighing 17.131g Hg(NO3)2·H2O, a 1/10,000 balance is required to ensure the weighing accuracy. The range control during the calibration process is <0.002mol/L, reflecting the high reproducibility of the method.

Precision verification data

The collaborative test of 8 laboratories showed that: at the chlorine content level of 10.84%, the repeatability limit r=0.291% and the reproducibility limit R=0.375%, which meets the precision requirements of GB/T6379.2 for industrial analysis methods.

Implementation suggestions

  1. The drying temperature (105±5℃) must be strictly controlled during the sample pretreatment stage to prevent chlorine loss
  2. Adjusting the pH to yellow-green to yellow before titration is the key control point
  3. It is recommended to carry standard substances for quality control in each batch of determination
