Scope
This standard specifies a measurement method for the destructive measurement of the thickness of each layer of a composite anti-corrosion coating. This method is used to measure the thickness of each layer of the anti-corrosion coating by observing a precise angular cut surface cut on the anti-corrosion coating with a microscope. This standard is applicable to composite anti-corrosion coatings with a thickness less than 1.3mm. If the total thickness of the composite anti-corrosion coating is greater than 1.3mm, the surface anti-corrosion coating can be removed to meet the measurement range requirements to measure the thickness of the inner anti-corrosion coating. This standard does not apply to composite anti-corrosion coatings that are easily deformed under pressure and composite anti-corrosion coatings that have no obvious interface color distinction between the layers. The surface of the composite anti-corrosion coating may be a flat surface or a smooth arc surface, but the smooth arc surface should be measured in the axial direction.
