Scope
This standard specifies the types, basic parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage of lifting rings, elevators and lifting clamps. This standard applies to the lifting rings and elevators used to lift pipe strings and the lifting clamps used to tighten or loosen the connecting threads of drill strings, casings and similar rods or pipe fittings in oil and gas drilling, workover and production operations.
