Scope

This standard specifies the residual strength evaluation method for oil and gas transmission pipelines with crack-type defects in service. The safety pre-evaluation of proposed pipelines and the safety evaluation of new pipelines can also apply the evaluation methods given in this standard. This standard does not apply to fatigue evaluation of pipelines. This standard applies to oil and gas transmission pipelines in service whose original design standards are consistent with GB 50251 or GB 50253.
