Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements for a health, safety and environmental management system to enable organizations to control health, safety and environmental risks, achieve health, safety and environmental objectives and continuously improve their performance. This standard applies to health, safety and environmental management of various types of organizations engaged in the oil and gas industry. When an organization establishes, implements, maintains and improves a health, safety and environmental management system in accordance with the requirements of this standard, it shall fully consider its health, safety and environmental policy, as well as the nature of activities, risks and complexity of operations and other factors.
