Scope
1.0.1 This specification is formulated in order to standardize the design, construction, management and operation of the cathodic protection system for the inner wall of steel water tanks. 1.0.2 This specification applies to forced current cathodic protection systems and sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems for the inner walls of new and existing steel water tanks. 1.0.3 Cathodic protection technology can be used alone to control corrosion on water-immersed surfaces, or it can be used in conjunction with coatings or other protection methods. Cathodic protection technology cannot protect non-submerged surfaces. 1.0.4 The design, construction, management and operation of the cathodic protection system for the inner wall of steel water tanks should not only comply with this specification, but also comply with the relevant national mandatory standards and specifications.
