Scope

This standard covers recommended practices for the design and operation of coiled tubing. The applications and limitations of continuous tubes are different from connected tubes in several aspects. The main reason is that continuous tubes can be bent and do not need to be connected. As with all pipe operations, the use of coiled tubing is related to aspects such as project planning, equipment design, and pipe handling, maintenance, and storage procedures.
