Scope

This standard specifies the tasks, contents and basic methods of risk identification, evaluation and control of geological hazards in oil and gas pipelines. This standard applies to the risk management of geological hazards in pipelines for long-distance onshore transportation of crude oil, refined oil, natural gas, coalbed methane and coal-to-gas. The pipeline referred to in this standard includes pipelines and pipeline ancillary facilities. The geological hazards referred to in this standard include rock and soil hazards. Hydraulic hazards and structural hazards. Rock and soil hazards only include landslides, collapses, mudslides, ground collapses (including only collapses in goaf areas and karst collapses), special soils (including only loess wet collapse, swelling and shrinkage of expansive soils, frozen soil frost heaving and thawing, saline soil salt swelling and dissolution, and wind erosion and sand burial); hydraulic hazards only include slope water damage, river channel water damage and terrace field water damage; geological structural hazards only include fault dislocation and earthquakes. This standard does not apply to process pipelines in oil and gas transmission stations, urban gas pipelines and pipelines in the factory areas of oil refining, chemical and other enterprises. Oil and gas field gathering and transportation pipelines can refer to this standard for implementation.
