Scope

This standard specifies the performance and quality requirements for the design, manufacture and assembly of offshore drilling riser equipment used to connect subsea blowout preventer stacks. This standard applies to the following main subsystems of offshore drilling riser systems: a) Riser tensioner. b) Flexible/ball joint. c) Choke/Kill and auxiliary lines. d) Suspension hose and jumper piping with flex/ball joints. e) Expansion joints and tension rings. f) Single riser. g) Buoyancy devices. h) Riser access equipment. i) Special components for riser systems. j) Reducing joint at the lower part of the riser.
