Key technical requirements

Failure mode assessment (FMA)

Use Subsea ball valve as a case study:

  • Failure mode identification: Need to analyze 8 types of modes such as corrosion and sealing failure

  • Test method: Refer to the composite requirements of API 6A and API 17D
