Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, static load and fatigue test methods, inspection rules, signs, etc. for combined brake beams (hereinafter referred to as brake beams). This standard applies to the manufacture and inspection of combined brake beams for standard gauge railway freight cars. The static load and fatigue test methods of this standard are also applicable to other types of truck brake beams.
