Introduction

Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution

TB/T 2818-2016 replaces the 1997 version of the standard, mainly adding subcategories such as frost damage to retaining structures and artificial caves, and strengthening the classification of composite foundation diseases. The revision reflects three major technological advances:

Dimensions 1997 Edition 2016 Edition
Disease Subclasses 32 Classes 42 Classes
Special Geology 4 Classes 7 Classes
Structural Diseases Basic Classification Detailed Support/Protection System

Analysis of Core Disease Types

3.1 Mud and Boreholes

It is divided into four subcategories: soil base, weathered stone base, fissure springs, and graded gravel base. Typical characteristics:

  • Soil subgrade: mud consistency> 12 plasticity index, columnar spurting at the sleeper end
  • Graded gravel: the edge of the supporting layer starts to erupt, and the mud is thin
Case: The graded gravel subgrade of a line in the south was overturned during the rainy season. The replacement + sealing layer treatment was adopted, and the disease elimination rate reached 92%

3.2 Subsidence disease

New Composite foundation degassing subclass, main characteristics comparison:

Type Development speed Handling difficulties
Road foundation body Annual settlement ≤50mm Filling material improvement
Composite foundation Suddenness Pile detection

Implementation suggestions

  1. Frost damage prevention and control: EPS insulation layer + anti-seepage membrane combination is recommended in Northeast China
  2. Monitoring focus: Distributed fiber optic sensors need to be deployed in composite foundation sections
  3. Emergency treatment: Temporary consolidation of polymer materials is preferred for mud bubbling
