Scope

This standard specifies the product classification and nomenclature, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation, storage, etc. of valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries (hereinafter referred to as batteries) for railway locomotives (internal combustion, electric) and railway passenger left . This standard applies to batteries used for diesel locomotive starting, diesel locomotives, electric locomotives, railway passenger car lighting, emergency power supplies and auxiliary electrical equipment. Other types of valve-regulated batteries can also be used as reference.
