Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

Configuration level General equipment items Special equipment items Applicable institutions
File A (basic configuration) 22 types 4 types Mandatory configuration for hospitals at all levels
File B (third-level additional configuration) 19 types 5 types Mandatory configuration for third-level hospitals
File C (optional) 29 types 14 types Configured on demand by hospitals at all levels

Key equipment configuration specifications

Take anesthesia machine (A file) as an example:

  • Basic requirements: 1 unit is configured in each operating room
  • Expansion in tertiary hospitals: The recovery room needs to be equipped with anesthesia machines or ventilators according to the number of beds at a ratio of 1:5
  • Technical evolution: The 2024 version of the standard includes the anesthesia depth monitoring module (B file) as a mandatory configuration for tertiary hospitals for the first time

Configuration of special function operating rooms

For complex operating rooms, the standard clearly requires:

  1. Must be equipped with image-guided systems such as DSA (B-level)
  2. It is recommended to configure intraoperative CT/MRI (C-level)
  3. Extracorporeal circulation operating rooms must be equipped with blood recovery devices (A-level)

Implementation suggestions

Configuration planning process

1. Calculate the base number of patient monitoring equipment based on the annual surgical volume
2. Distinguish between general and special equipment by operating room type
3. Refer to Appendix A to establish a configuration list
4. Reserve 10-15% of the budget for C-level equipment

Response to common problems

• Secondary hospitals must apply for B-level equipment through provincial expert review
>Medical gas system should reserve 20% expansion space
• Information equipment needs to be connected to the hospital HIS system

Standard evolution analysis

Compared with previous specifications, this standard has the following breakthroughs:

  • Established the ABC three-level configuration system for the first time
  • Added new equipment such as ultrasound echo Doppler equipment
  • Cleared the equipment configuration standards for the postoperative recovery room
  • Introduced the WFSA international anesthesia safety standard
