Scope
This standard specifies the automatic optical power reduction (APR) process adopted for optical interfaces that exceed safe optical power limits to provide horizontal compatibility, that is, allowing equipment from different manufacturers to be mixed in the same optical subsystem. The optical power safety processing process for optical access networks is outside the scope of this standard. The specific process of optical security with RAMAN optical amplifier needs to be studied. This standard applies to optical transmission network systems using optical amplifiers.
