The standard takes typical products such as zone melting germanium ingots and high-purity germanium tetrachloride as the objects, and constructs an evaluation system covering the entire life cycle.

5.4 Energy resource input
Mandatory requirement: the comprehensive energy consumption of germanium concentrate processing is ≤3.8tce/t-Ge (Level 3), and it is recommended to use a proportion of recycled germanium raw materials ≥30%. Energy efficiency limit requirements for key equipment:
- Air compressor: ≥GB19153-2019 Energy efficiency level 3
- Transformer: ≥GB20052-2020 Energy efficiency level 3

Case: The recovery rate of hydrogen chloride tail gas in a certain enterprise is less than 60%. The recovery rate can be increased to more than 90% by adding a three-stage recovery system of graphite falling film absorber, while meeting the atmospheric emission requirements of 5.6.1.
