Scope

This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage requirements for disposable intravenous infusion needles. This standard applies to disposable intravenous infusion needles. This product is clinically designed to be used with a disposable infusion (blood) set or syringe for intravenous infusion of medicinal liquid (or blood) into the human body. Infusion needles supplied to manufacturers of disposable infusion (blood) sets should refer to this standard.
