Scope

This standard specifies requirements for the performance and safety of medical stand-alone gas mixers intended to be connected to medical gas supply systems. The rationale for some requirements is given in Appendix B. This standard does not apply to: a) flow meter groups with independent control of each gas flow; b) gas mixers that mix oxygen and ambient air; c) gas mixers that rely on other medical equipment to meet the functional requirements of this standard.
