Scope
This standard specifies the dimensions and composition of preformed metal or polymer-based filling tips or cones for filling closed root canals, but does not cover preformed tips or cones used to support coronal restorations. This standard also specifies a numerical system for indicating dimensions and a color identification system. Root canal filling tips can be marketed as sterile or non-sterile. This standard covers only the physical properties of the products offered. It does not include requirements for sterility, so if the manufacturer declares that its product is sterile, the manufacturer shall be responsible for this statement.
