Scope

This part of YY/T 0590 specifies the method for measuring the quantum detection efficiency (DQE) of digital X-ray imaging devices. Quantum detection efficiency (DQE) is a function of exposure volume and spatial frequency under operating conditions within the manufacturer's specified range of medical applications. This section applies to digital X-ray imaging devices that produce images in digital format for medical diagnosis. The scope of application of this section is limited to digital X-ray photography devices used for single-exposure imaging, such as CR systems, imaging systems based on selenium materials, flat panel detectors, optically coupled CCD imaging systems and digital X-ray image intensifiers. This section does not apply to:
 ——digital X-ray imaging devices for mammography and dental photography;
 ——computed tomography equipment;
 ——X-ray systems for scanning and imaging of the human body;
 ——dynamic imaging equipment (a system in which a series of images are acquired, such as fluoroscopy and cardiac imaging). The above-mentioned devices are not included in this section because many of their parameters (such as radiation quality, geometric relationships, time dependence, etc.) are very different from conventional standards, just like the separate regulations for photosensitive speed and contrast in IEC and ISO.
