Scope

This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for medical varicose vein compression stockings (including custom-made stockings) knitted from natural fibers or synthetic fibers and synthetic elastic fibers. This standard applies to compression stockings used as medical devices to treat venous and/or lymphatic diseases of the legs (hereinafter referred to as "compression stockings"). This standard does not give requirements for the manufacture of compression stockings.
