Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, requirements and test methods of milliwatt ultrasonic sources. This standard applies to milliwatt-level ultrasonic sources (hereinafter referred to as sound sources) used as medical ultrasonic power standards. The sound source consists of an ultrasonic transducer and an excitation source. It is a stable sound source with a known output of ultrasonic sound power. This sound source is mainly used in the ultrasonic measurement laboratory for daily comparison and verification of the effectiveness of ultrasonic sound power measurement devices and hydrophone measurement systems.
