Scope

This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for tooth whitening luminescence instruments. This standard applies to tooth whitening luminescence instruments (hereinafter referred to as "luminescence instruments", as defined in 3.1). In dental clinics, the luminescence instrument provides light source irradiation to the whitening agent covering the tooth surface, causing the whitening agent to undergo a chemical catalytic reaction under the light irradiation. This standard applies to luminometers that use halogen bulbs and/or LED lamps as light sources. This standard does not apply to luminometers that use lasers as light sources.
