Scope

This standard specifies the terminology, test methods and technical requirements for process control of offset printing plate making. This standard applies to metal PS plates; to contact exposure vacuum plate machines, continuous exposure machines and automatic developing machines. This standard does not apply to optical projection and direct writing platemaking, although its principles may be applied to similar technologies. This standard does not apply to FM screens, although a characteristic of their tone values may be used in similar technologies.
