Scope

This standard specifies the smoke emission limits of road diesel vehicles under free acceleration conditions. This standard is applicable to compression ignition engines (such as engines using diesel, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas or other alternative fuels as fuel). Cars with a maximum total mass greater than 400KG and a maximum design speed equal to or greater than 50KM/H.
