Standard Background and Significance

As my country's first mandatory safety standard for the wind power industry, DL 796-2001 was formulated based on the operating experience of imported wind turbines and the needs of the localization process. The standard systematically regulates the safety requirements of the entire wind power production process for the first time, filling the gap in the industry.

Key Technical Specifications

Wind Turbine Installation

Lifting operations must meet the following requirements: Specialized lifting equipment load factor ≥ 2.5, bolt tightening torque error controlled within ±5%, and overspeed test to be verified under rated wind speed 120% conditions.

Operation and maintenance safety measures

A case study of a wind farm showed that the gearbox burst due to direct maintenance without manual pressure relief of the hydraulic system. Article 7.27 of the standard clearly stipulates that the pressure relief valve must be opened first and the pressure gauge must be reset to zero before operation.


Implementation suggestions

  1. Establish a two-person supervision system, especially for high-altitude tower operations
  2. Configure a weather monitoring system to provide real-time warning of excessive wind speed
  3. Carry out protection device tests every quarter and record action parameters
