Introduction

Technical background and evolution of the standard

my country's installed hydropower capacity has reached 400 million kilowatts, of which bulb-type units account for about 15%. This standard fills the gap in technical specifications in the field of stator winding transformation. Compared with the 2008 version of GB/T 7894, it adds 5 key technical indicators and raises the insulation level from F to H.

Key technical requirements

5.1 Feasibility Study

Electromagnetic calculation review, ventilation simulation and mechanical strength verification are required. A typical case shows that the efficiency of a power station was increased from 94.2% to 95.8% through transformation.

6.3 Insulation treatment

The VPI vacuum pressure impregnation process is required, and the insulation resistance value shall comply with the provisions of GB 50150:

  • Stator winding: ≥100MΩ (20℃)
  • Absorption ratio: ≥1.6

Implementation suggestions

Take the transformation of a power station of Wuling Power as an example:

  1. Infrared thermal imager was used to detect local hot spots in the early stage
  2. After the transformation, the 72-hour continuous trial operation specified in DL/T 827 was passed
  3. The vibration value is controlled below 80μm

Assessment and evaluation system

Appendix A specifies 9 categories and 32 items of evaluation indicators, among which the key items include:

  • Temperature rise test deviation ≤5K
  • Partial discharge quantity <1000pC
  • Winding deformation rate <3%
