Introduction

Standard Framework and Technology Evolution

NOBS is a representative product of sulfonamide delayed-acting accelerators. The formulation of its standard reflects the development level of rubber vulcanization technology in the 1980s. Compared with the early accelerator MBT, this standard introduces the photoelectric multifunctional melting point instrument as a key testing equipment for the first time, which improves the melting point control accuracy to ±0.5℃.

Testing instruments and experimental methods

The melting point is determined by the standardized process of Electrothermal Precision Melting Point Instrument, and the test consistency is ensured by the 10kPa pre-loaded sample pressure. The ash content test needs to be burned in a high temperature muffle furnace at 750±2℃ for 2h, and the deviation of parallel samples should be controlled within 0.04%.


Project Implementation Suggestions

Optimization Case of a Tire Factory in South China

After the factory implemented the standard GB8829-88, the NOBS batch qualification rate was increased from 85% to 96.5%. By standardizing the constant temperature drying oven at 50±2℃ for 3h, the scorching time of the rubber material can be extended to 26 minutes (original: 18 minutes)
