Scope
This standard is equivalent to the ITU-T X.28:1997 recommendation. This standard defines the interface between the DCE/DTE where the start-stop data terminal enters the national public data network's subassembly and disassembly (PAD) facility, the procedures for establishing a domestic access information channel between the start-stop DTE and the PAD, and the start-stop DTE and PAD Procedures for character exchange and service initialization, procedures for exchanging control information between start-stop DTE and PAD, procedures for exchanging user data between start-stop DTE and PAD, multi-feature PAD (MAP) framework and service definition.
