Standard Background and Significance
GB/T 12598-2023 is an important national standard for the determination of ion exchange resin strength. Its main purpose is to evaluate the strength of unused wet spherical ion exchange resins under specific conditions by testing the ball rate of infiltration and the ball rate after grinding. Term Explanation and Practical Application
Grinding Roundness:Refers to the ability of particles to maintain integrity after roller grinding under the action of acid and alkali. For example, when testing strongly acidic cation exchange resins, 1mol/L HCl solution is required for treatment.
Post-grinding Roundness:Refers to the integrity of particles after only mechanical force (such as ball mill). For example, in the test of weakly basic anion exchange resins, 1mol/L NaOH solution is required for treatment.
Implementation recommendations
To ensure the accuracy and consistency of the test results, it is recommended that:
- Prepare the sample strictly in accordance with the standard requirements, especially the sample type processing steps.
- Regularly calibrate the equipment, such as whether the ball mill speed and the inner diameter of the drum meet the specified requirements.
- Strengthen personnel training, especially in the operation of the infiltration treatment column and the particle separation process, pay attention to observe and record abnormal phenomena.
