Analysis of key technical terms

TPMS related terms

TPMS snap-on valve: a tubeless valve that is self-sealed with the rim through an elastomer and has an integrated tire pressure monitoring interface (see Figure 13). The installation torque requirement is ≤5.8N·m.

TPMS extension tube: an extension component with signal transmission function, the tolerance of its connection thread should be controlled within the M8×0.75-6H level.

Valve classification system

Classification dimensions Main types Typical applications
Installation method Snap-on type/Compression type/Swing arm type Passenger car/Engineering machinery
Core cavity specifications Ordinary core cavity (Φ<4.6mm)/Large core cavity Motorcycle/Truck
Structural form Straight type/Single bend type/Multi-bend type Special vehicles

Implementation Suggestions

  1. Special attention should be paid to the machining accuracy of the TPMS valve identification ring during the production process (tolerance ±0.1mm)
  2. The installation torque of the protective cap should be controlled in stages: ordinary core cavity ≤3N·m, large core cavity ≤5N·m
  3. The new version adds the core rod head position parameter (Article 5.9) and recommends that it be included in the factory inspection items

Background of Standard Evolution

This standard adopts ISO38772:1997 in a non-equivalent manner. The main differences are:
1) Adding a valve system for electric vehicles with Chinese characteristics
2) Strengthening TPMS compatibility requirements
3) Refining the air tightness test indicators
